Lluvia en el bano

It's official - winter has started here in Suchitoto. By winter, I mean the rainy season.

It will rain every afternoon or evening for the next five months. Last night it poured for 6 hours. There is a grated hole underneath our house where the water flows off the street, so we have a river when it rains!

With the river, comes frogs and toads and all kinds of funny bugs. Chris has become an expert at grabbing beetles with his hand and catching frogs in plastic bags.

There is something beautiful about the rain, and frustrating too. As it is people in Suchitoto don't leave their houses much, but when it rains they really don't leave. The streets are empty. The rain continues to pour.

I have come to love being in my house, enjoying nights in. I still have the innate instinct to plan something, always doing. Suchitoto leans more towards being and relaxing, so I am trying to learn how to do that.

Everything is so much greener now. It is refreshing to have a change, after so much of the same.

I want to share some pictures of an adventure before the rain, it's amazing how dry everything was. We enjoyed a fun day with our friends from Basque Country and their adorable little daughter Sara. I want have a little girl just like her with the exact same hair cut. We'll see how that turns out in the future!
